Plenty of distance used to be required for large-format presentations – so they didn’t work in rooms with limited space available. This problem is no more: Mitsubishi Electric’s portable “short-distance” projectors open up entirely new dimensions of images, even in the smallest of conference, training or instruction rooms. A special lens with an extra-large diameter in a special housing construction makes for ultra-short projection distances. The short distance between projector and projector surface is unsurpassed. This prevents speakers from having to stand in the light and being dazzled while presenting.
Two models are available: The WD380U-EST has a projection ratio of 0.375:1, making it the device with the shortest throw ratio in the world among the ultra-short distance projectors without mirrors (as of March 2011). As a WXGA projector, it has a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. Its counterpart, the XD360U-EST, an XGA projector with 1,024 x 768 pixels, has a projection ratio of 0.469:1. Both projectors are 3D-ready and support computer-free presentation directly from USB stick.
